Selimiye
A naturally protected bay that lies like a lake, with six waterfront tavernas around it run by competing brothers. It is widely held to be the best eating on this coast, and the whole thing is twenty-five minutes from the resort by fast boat against an hour and a half by road.
Bozburun
Forty minutes further and a different evening. Bozburun still builds wooden gulets and has done for four generations; walk the timber sheds before dinner and you will see hulls at every stage. Then eat on the quay with the masts in front of you.
