The yards
Bozburun has built wooden charter boats for four generations. Walk the timber sheds late in the afternoon and you will find hulls at every stage, from bare frames to a finished 30-metre waiting on the slip. It is not a museum; these are working yards.
What is within an hour
Selimiye and its six octopus tavernas, Söğüt and the Manzara restaurant on the water, Kızkumu at Orhaniye, Dirsekbükü, Bozukkale and the ruins of ancient Loryma, and Symi three hours west if you have the papers. The Bozburun peninsula is the quietest cruising ground within reach of Marmaris.
